• Somru BioScience recently was awarded $747,500 in federal funding under the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI). This will facilitate a new robotic fill-finish system to internalize packaging and quality assurance functions, increase productivity and expand global markets.
• Ring Rescue published Evaluation of made-for-purpose ring cutter devices for the removal of modern hard ring materials article in the Canadian Journal of Emergency Medicine. Emergence co-funded the pivotal study that led to this publication.
• Myomar Molecular demonstrated for the first time their rapid test prototype for investors, collaborators and representatives of the community. It is a first-of-its-kind, non-invasive, urine-based diagnostic test designed to monitor muscle health and predict muscle degeneration. Years of scientific research and teamwork culminated in this working model. Emergence provided specialist project funding to support the clinical study at Saint Mary's University.
• Chinova Bioworks and Infusd both won the Canadian Food Innovation Network 2026 Foodtech Frontier Award in the Next-generation Ingredients and Food category and RFINE Biomass Solutions won in the Food Waste, Circularity, and Cleantech category. This is the first program of its kind dedicated to celebrating Canada’s most ambitious and impactful foodtech innovators. Well done!
• Amar Seafood was recently featured in PEI’s daily newspaper for their work putting the province on the map for land-based finfish aquaculture. The company shared more details about their plans for a $40 million expansion in Victoria, PEI to meet the growing demands for their farmed Atlantic halibut and spotted wolffish.
